My name is Judith Headley from the Ottawa Community. This year I will be hosting a Caribbean Culture Day event in the Ottawa area on 28 September 2019 at the Masonic Centre 2140 Walkley Rd from noon until 8 PM. This event is family oriented and free of charge.
Culture Days raises awareness, accessibility, participation and engagement of Canadians in the arts and cultural life of their communities. Starting on the last Friday in September every year, Culture Days takes place in hundreds of cities and towns throughout the country. During this annual three-day celebration, thousands of arts and cultural groups host free participatory public activities bringing together millions of Canadians.
Everyone can play a role in Culture Days, including artists, arts and/or cultural organizations, community groups, municipalities, libraries, schools, citizens or business people. Whether you are already passionate about arts and culture or curious to discover new experiences, you can take part in Culture Days.
This year the theme for Culture Days 2019 is Creativity, The Arts, and Well Being.
This event gives the Caribbean community a chance to showcase ourselves to the wider community. The program for the day will feature entertainment, workshops, encompass tables with information on various Caribbean countries, showcase Caribbean foods, feature activities for kids, and have entertainment throughout the day.
There will be vendor tables on site with goods available for sale.
Caribbean food will be on sale.
Limited swag bags available
